The Here Between the Days

In the stillness of the now
The here between the days
Breathing soft and slow, you dream
Colors hushed and dimmed, now shades of gray

Near to you, I remain alive
Flesh and blood, nerve and bone
Living, breathing, deeply feeling
In solitude, no longer alone

My body draws closer still
From depths of sleep, you concur
Bodies merging into one
Sacred moment seldom to occur

Of passion, of fire, we love
This moment, in silence, now transcends
All that we could say, touch, or feel
United in heart as sleep descends
